PSsystec's IoT Energy Monitor Wins Green Future Best Practice Award at Telekom Campus Fair 2025

At the Telekom Campus Fair 2025 in Bonn, PSsystec’s IoT Energy Monitor was honored with the Green Future Best Practice Award.

In the category "Carbon Reduction – DT Scope 3", Deutsche Telekom recognizes solutions that demonstrably reduce emissions in the extended supply chain – through scalability, data quality, and real impact.

PSsystec impressed the jury with a solution that starts where digitization has hardly taken place so far: in existing infrastructure.

“The real challenge isn't the smart factory – it's the analog branch.”
Andreas Feiler, Managing Director

A New Level of Energy Transparency

The IoT Energy Monitor is based on SMARTbox technology and was specially developed for retrofit applications. That means: existing systems, meters, or infrastructures are digitized without any IT intervention. Data transmission is secure and standardized via mobile networks (NB-IoT, LTE-M).

Energy flows are captured through various sensor packages – including electricity (via Rogowski coil or SMARTsens converter), gas (pulse sensor), heat, and water.

No LAN. No WLAN. No problem.

The IoT Energy Monitor operates completely autonomously. In a pilot project with a nationwide retail company, over 600 locations are being equipped. The goals:

  • Average energy savings of 25%
  • Reduction of the CO₂ footprint by several thousand tons per year
  • ROI in less than 12 months

Additional Use Cases:

  • Monitoring of energy flows in 5G base stations and technical containers
  • Detection of inefficient cooling cycles in food refrigeration
  • Analysis of standby losses in production machines
  • Alerting of faults and deviations via mobile communication

“We bring light into dark basements. And data into the cloud – even without an IT connection.”
Horst Lange, Head of Sales

An Award for a Mindset

PSsystec stands for a clear mission:
“We create simple access to non-digitized values – anytime, anywhere.”

The IoT Energy Monitor is part of a broader SMARTbox portfolio, which also includes additional modules like SMARTmodbus or SMARTsensor. All systems follow the same principles: non-invasive, mobile-based, instantly deployable.
